FAQs on Quadrilla Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about Quadrilla marble runs. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to send us an e-mail. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
What's the meaning of "Quadrilla" ? The name "Quadrilla" is a worldwide protected brandname of the company:
Quadrilla, Spielzeug-Design & -Herstellung Wilfried Braun Konstantinweg 4 55126 Mainz Germany
"Quadrilla" stands for "intelligent playing in wood".
The first product under the brandname "Quadrilla" was and is the marble run system featured on this website. And that's why the name "Quadrilla" is currently still mostly used for the series of marble runs as the first game.
But very soon, there will be more games under this brandname.
Which kind of material is used for the Quadrilla marble runs?
The material for all the rails is birch-plywood, the blocks are made from rubberwood.
All the items are tested by EN 71 and ASTM-standard.
The connection rings on the rails are plastic, which is also used for some parts in the Twist
How do the rails and blocks fit together ? The top of each block and each rail has a hole while the bottom sides have rings to fit in the holes. All the pieces are plugged together ca. 8 mm, that's the reason the building is stable to build up.
Why do the rails have no downward slope and what about the speed of the marbles?
The marbles get the speed only from the slope in the blocks and not from the rails. If you have a normal flat floor at home, then the speed of the marbles will be enough to go over the ways of the building. If you or your children wants to get more speed for the marbles or you want to go a long way or your floor is not flat, in this cases you should use the small red "speedmakers" which you only must put to the rails at this place where you need more speed.
Can we combine all the different main-sets and also the other pieces?
All the main-sets and all the additional pieces you can combine together. There are two exceptions: The red seesaw needs alltimes a straight rail with 5 holes and cannot be used on curve rails. That means, if you have a BASIC-Set or a TWIST-Set or a Twist-Set 2 and you want to use the red seesaw, then you must also buy the EXPANSION-set 2. If you have the TWIST&RAIL-Set at home, which has one red seesaw from the start and you also want to use one red seesaw more, then you also need the additional EXPANSION-set 2
Why exist different kinds of rails (straight and curve) in the Quadrilla marble run system?
Please read the explanation with pictures
here.
Can we use other marbles instead of which from the set ?
If the vacuum cleaner took away too many marbles, you can surely use regular marbles between 16 - 17 mm diameter. They should be round and not shaped like an egg, otherwise they will not run properly on the rails.
Can we buy in the future more pieces to expand our existing Quadrilla-marble run ?
Sure there will be more and more different pieces for this marble run in the future, the fun will not end soon !
What can we do if one piece has broken ?
All the pieces are quality checked many times before they are being sent out. In the rare case that a piece is broken anyhow, please contact your retail or online shop, where you bought the item to get a replacement.
